I am a photographer born and raised on the East Coast of Canada and am currently based in Toronto.
In my work, I capture the quiet moment and look at the topics of self-awareness, compassion and consciousness. I explore human connection by either directly looking at it in one project or looking at the lack of it in another. I capture what I see by being patient, attentive, and absorbed. I trust that what occurs in front of my lens when I click is what was required for that image.
My work is influenced by my studies in psychology, my observations and reflections of everyday life, my love for nature and my nostalgia for an older and possibly simpler time. While I photograph digitally as a professional, personally, I choose to photograph with 35mm on my Canon AE-1 – especially when time is not of the essence. I prefer the unknown outcome, the texture of the film’s image, and the tradition of the negative.
