Art is my secret hiding place, my refuge, my window into the world, the place where I can be me and the place where I can risk everything. I do not set out to do a specific subject. I am influenced by things I see, feel and experience.
The process of transforming a white, empty canvas into something else is amazing. The process of creating and the culmination in a work of art gives me a sense of accomplishment and helps to transform inner vision to external reality.
I mainly work with acrylics and found material. This mix of the tradition with found objects gives the work additional texture and design, makes the finished product more interesting and connects traditional media to things from everyday life, thus making the art work truly a “slice of life.”
My work is meditative, contemplative and some say interpretive but always there is an internal search for meaning.
