Lisandra Pellegrini

Artist Statement

Lisandra Pellegrini is a native of Toronto, Ontario. Born and raised in Scarborough, her exposure and love for art started young. Luckily, her high school mentors and art programs were top notch, and she excelled. Studying later at the Ontario College of Art and Design, she decided to focus more on photography. As the digital world quickly overtook the medium, Lisandra focuses primarily on painting and drawing. 

My main focus as an artist is to make people feel like they want to touch the work. The textures and colours are so key in finding a reason in the piece. Colours are a vital aspect of my work. Literal has never been my thing. 

It doesn’t necessarily need to mean anything, it could be like a moment. Fleeting. 

The collection done for twist art gallery is about movement, colour and textures. The movement is obvious in how the work is created, the colours all mean something subjectively and not, and 

textures are important in making the viewer feel something.
